3. Service Description
Ratana Law provides legal services focused on pension matters in Thailand. Our current service offerings are:
- Pension Entitlement Review — a plain-language review of your pension situation, including relevant records, correspondence, and decisions, to help you understand your position and the options that may be available to you.
- Dispute & Appeal Support — considered assistance where a pension decision appears incorrect, including preparation of correspondence, document gathering, and representation before the relevant authority.
- Full Pension Protection Representation — comprehensive support for more complex or long-running pension matters, covering case preparation, formal submissions, and ongoing representation through to resolution.
All services are provided in accordance with Thai law and the professional conduct standards applicable to legal practitioners in Thailand. Services are primarily available to individuals in Thailand, though we may assist clients abroad in relation to Thai pension entitlements.

6. Payment Terms
Fees
Our current service fees are published on our Services page. All fees are stated in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Fees are subject to change; any change will be communicated before you commit to a service.
Payment
Payment terms, accepted methods, and any deposit requirements will be set out in your engagement letter. We will not begin substantive work until payment or a deposit has been received, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Refunds
Where work has not yet commenced, we will discuss a refund of any advance payment on request. Once work has begun, fees reflect the professional time and resources committed to your matter; refunds for completed work are not generally provided. If you have a concern about the service received, please contact us and we will try to address it.
7. Service-Specific Terms
Scope of services
Each engagement is scoped by reference to the service you have selected and any additional matters agreed in writing. We will discuss the scope with you before beginning and will inform you if circumstances arise that may affect it.
Timelines
We work at a pace that suits your circumstances and the requirements of your matter. While we aim to keep you informed of expected timelines, pension proceedings may involve external parties and administrative bodies whose timetables are outside our control. We will always communicate delays promptly.
Changes to scope
If your matter develops in a way that requires additional work outside the original scope, we will discuss this with you and agree any revised fee before proceeding.
8. Confidentiality
We treat all information you share with us as confidential and subject to legal professional privilege where applicable. We will not disclose your information to third parties except as necessary to provide the services you have engaged us for, as required by law, or as described in our Privacy Policy.
You agree to keep confidential any legal strategy, advice, or documents we provide to you, and not to share them in a manner that could prejudice your matter or any related proceedings.
9. Disclaimers
The information on this website is provided for general information purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. No lawyer-client relationship is formed by reading this website or making an initial enquiry.
While we take care to keep the content on this website accurate and up to date, we cannot be certain that it reflects the most current legal developments. You should not rely on website content alone when making legal decisions.
We cannot promise specific outcomes from legal proceedings. Pension disputes involve independent decision-makers whose determinations are beyond our control. We will always give you an honest view of the likely prospects of your matter.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law:
- Our total liability to you arising from or in connection with the services shall not exceed the fees paid by you for the specific service to which the claim relates;
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, including loss of opportunity, loss of expected benefit, or loss arising from decisions made by pension authorities or courts;
- We shall not be liable for any delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including changes in law, government action, or administrative delays.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Thai law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ratana Law and its personnel from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms and Conditions;
- Your provision of false or misleading information to us;
- Your use of this website in a manner that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of any third party.
12. Termination
By you
You may end your engagement with us at any time by notifying us in writing. We will confirm the position regarding any work in progress and any fees due for work already undertaken.
By us
We reserve the right to cease acting for you where required by our professional obligations, where there is an irresolvable conflict of interest, or where you have provided false information or acted in a manner inconsistent with these terms. We will give reasonable notice where circumstances allow.
Effect of termination
On termination, all confidentiality obligations continue to apply. We will make available to you any documents you have provided to us, subject to any outstanding fee obligations. Provisions of these terms that by their nature survive termination will continue in force.
13. Dispute Resolution
Informal resolution
If you have a concern about our services, we ask that you first contact us directly at [email protected]. We will make every effort to resolve your concern promptly and fairly.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from these terms or our services that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.
Professional conduct
Our legal services are subject to the professional conduct rules applicable to legal practitioners in Thailand. Clients may also have recourse to applicable professional oversight bodies in relation to conduct matters.
14. General Provisions
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with any engagement letter, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ratana Law regarding the matters covered herein.
- Severability. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
- Waiver. A failure or delay in exercising any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our prior written consent. We may transfer our obligations to a successor firm, provided your interests are not materially affected.
- Notices. Formal notices should be sent in writing by email to [email protected] or by post to our Bangkok address below.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, applicable law, or best practice. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
If you have an existing engagement with us, any material changes will be communicated to you directly before taking effect in relation to your matter. For website users, continued use of this website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
